ABOUT US
Located in the heart of the vibrant market town of Bakewell, within the picturesque Peak District National Park, The Old Original Bakewell Pudding Shop has been a beloved landmark since 1860. From this very building, the famous Bakewell Pudding has been sold for over 160 years, preserving a delicious tradition that continues to delight visitors from near and far.

Our historic 17th-century property houses an 80-seat licensed restaurant on the upper floor, as well as a charming gift shop and bakery counter on the ground floor.

Inside, you’ll find a treasure trove of unique gifts, specialty food, and drink. The bakery counter serves fresh, handmade treats crafted by the award-winning artisan Bakewell Bakery, including, of course, the iconic Bakewell Pudding.

During warmer months, our lower-ground-floor deli also serves our outdoor courtyard – a peaceful suntrap, perfect for relaxing with refreshments.

Accessibility
While the upper floor remains inaccessible to wheelchairs due to the building’s historic nature, the ground floor offers full accessibility via a ramp at the courtyard entrance. Guests can enjoy meals in the downstairs deli or the courtyard, both inviting spots to savour selections from our restaurant menu.
